Our Approach
The following are the fundamental principles of our approach
DiversityWe value diversity of age, perspective, business talent, leadership style, geography and culture. We recognise and develop future leaders who represent the broad face of Australia’s demographic, social, community and professional culture.
Experiential Learning Experiential and action learning are core methodologies of the Emerging Leaders Governance Program. We want Young Leaders to understand firsthand the role and dynamics of Boards of Governance; and the real challenges facing the aged care and community sector- as well as to participate in conversations and solutions for them.
Connectivity We build cross-sector networks of engagement, relationship and nurture between Young Leaders and senior community leaders through dedicated networking, team building, intergenerational leadership events, one-to-one mentoring, social media and alumni networks.
Peer Support Graduates of the Emerging Leaders Governance Program are supported by an Alumni Network and senior mentors and contacts they establish during the Program.
Resources Visit our Resource Toolkit for materials, research, discourse and videos about leadership and governance produced by us.
Board Opportunities Several of our Community Partners (sponsoring organisations) offer periodic Board Traineeships or have vacancies arise on their Boards which they advertise to graduates of the Emerging Leaders Governance Program.
Collective Leadership Community Partners play a key role in the development and delivery of the Emerging Leaders Governance Program and in mentorship and support of its graduates. |
