ELGP 2022 Launch
Congratulations to our newest cohort for the Emerging Leaders in Governance program for 2022!
What an exceptional bunch of people we have welcomed into this year’s Open program cohort. You can read their biographies here. Many guests at the breakfast launch on 2 February remarked on the quality and breadth of experience of participants. We are excited to get started and look forward to an exceptional program.
2022 celebrates our tenth year of the program!
Granted a 1-year Social Innovation grant by the State Government, we ran our very first program in 2013. It was wonderful to have participants of the first program at the ELGP 2022 Launch including Ashley Dawson, Samantha Bowen and Louise Forster. All who went on to sit on numerous boards and create exceptional impact in the community.
Thanks to James Lawton, Executive Director, Governance and Strategy at MercyCare, who provided the Community Partner Address for the ELGP Open 2022 program launch. James was on the founding team for the Engaging Young Leaders on Aged Care and Community Boards program along with Dr Nicky Howe, CEO, Southcare and Dr Lucy Morris, former Baptistcare CEO. James is an incredible mentor and huge supporter of the program, 10 years later! We also had many supporters at the launch who have been with us since the very beginning including Angie Paskevicius, Francis Lynch and Michelle Jenkins, and many more who couldn’t make the launch!
Thank you to Sharon Wood Kenney, community leader and WA Women’s Hall of Fame, for the beautiful Welcome to Country at the ELGP Open 2022 Launch on the 2 February. Sharon inspired us to remember our own elders and take a moment to reflect on the Aboriginal elders of the lands we live on. With the peppermint leaves on hand, she invited us to get present in the moment and take a breath.
Thank you to our Community Partners for attending the ELGP Open 2022 Launch. Without our Community Partners, we wouldn’t have a program. They are incredible organisations offering financial and in kind support to the program. We look forward to an exceptional program ahead.
