EYLACCB End of Financial Year Highlights 2024-25: A Year in Governance, Growth and Impact

Welcome to the Engaging Young Leaders on Aged Care and Community Boards (EYLACCB) End of Financial Year Highlights! Think of this as your all-access look at what we’ve achieved together over the past 12 months and since program inception, not just in numbers, but in impact. From exciting new placements to growing confidence in the next generation of community board leaders, these highlights show exactly what your support has made possible.
Who We Are and Why it Matters
Before we get into the numbers, this is a quick reminder of the key objectives of EYLACCB. At the heart of EYLACCB is a big vision: to help build a world class aged care and community sector underpinned by strong Board governance and leadership. We believe strong governance drives better community outcomes. That is why our mission is focused on facilitating age diversity on Boards to improve Board performance, specifically supporting emerging leaders under 40 to become confident, skilled, and connected contributors to Boards and committees.
We do this through three core pillars:
- The Emerging Leaders in Governance Program (ELGP) – our flagship program takes 20 passionate young professionals on a four-month journey into the world of governance, strategy, and leadership development.
- The Online Resource Toolkit – a growing library of alumni projects, eBooks, interviews and insights that capture more than a decade of governance learning.
- The Unconvention Event Series – while currently paused as we reimagine the format, this series covers topic issues surrounding leadership and governance.
Our Year in Numbers: The Impact You Helped Create
2025 ELGP
The 2025 ELGP cohort has just graduated and the results are already in. Through surveys and ongoing alumni engagement, we are proud to share the following cumulative achievements over the last 13 years:
- 218 Board Placements
- 38 Committee Placements
- 52 Traineeships
We have also seen a powerful rise in participant confidence, specifically in Board knowledge, leadership skills, NFP sector knowledge, and networking readiness.

The Power of Partnership
Community partners are the driving force behind this initiative. Whether you provide funding, mentorship, training, event support, or board placements, your contribution directly fuels the success of ELGP across WA. Here is how partnership looked this year:
- 43 total community partners
- 31 financial contributors
- 12 in-kind supporters
- $85 000 raised through community partner support
- $30 000 in in-kind value through board observations, mentoring, site visits, speaking and event contributions
These are numbers that we are extremely proud of and we dearly thank our community partners for supporting this initiative. We know funding is tight across the sector, which makes your investment even more meaningful. Your belief in this program is what makes it thrive.

Our Cumulative Impact
This year adds another proud chapter to our story. Here is the running tally of what we have built together:
⭐️302 total ELGP graduates since 2013.
⭐️261 ELGP scholarships offered to increase access and equity.
⭐️308 placements on Boards, committees, and in traineeships.
That is 308 opportunities for lived experience, emerging leadership, and fresh perspectives to strengthen community governance.
A Year to be Proud of
From first-time Board members to future treasurers and committee chairs, our alumni are not just showing up, they are stepping up. They are shaping stronger boards, pushing for inclusion, and proving that with the right tools and opportunities, young leaders can make a difference right now.
And none of this happens without you! Whether you are a funder, a host, a mentor, or a champion behind the scenes, this success is shared. Your support gives this program its momentum and makes each year more impactful than last.
With a new financial year comes a new wave of graduates, new stories to tell, and even more opportunities to raise the bar for governance across WA. We are excited to explore what we can achieve next, together.
