Unconvention March 2022 (Pushing Limits: Exploring Board Strategy and Risk)

What an incredible online Unconvention we had!

It only seemed fitting that this Unconvention’s topic was Pushing Limits: Exploring Board Strategy and Risk after all the challenges the sector has been faced over the last 2 years due to Covid, funding cuts, workforce shortages and increases in demand for services.

Below you can find keynote speaker, Rev Tim Costello’s presentation.

A huge thanks to our keynote speaker, Rev Tim Costello, Chair of Community Council of Australia for your insights.

A couple of gems included:
“Standing still is not good governance”
“For purpose sector employ 12% of Australians, it is time for the government to take the sector seriously”

Thanks too to our amazing panel including Angela Ryder, Founder of Langford Aboriginal Association and NED at Western Australian Aboriginal Leadership Institute, Pauline Vamos, Chair of Governance Institute of Australia and Interaction Disability Services, Mark Pearce, CEO of Volunteering Australia (VA), and Catherine Brooks, Senior Advisor at Wendy Brooks & Partners.

This panel was JAM PACKED with interesting thoughts and experiences on the state of the sector and how to maximise opportunities and minimise risks during this time.

And here is the panel discussion by our amazing panel:

Thanks to all participants for your questions, comments and contributions in making this event a success!

Last but not least, thank you to our Community Partners. Without our Community Partners, we wouldn’t be able to do this. They are incredible organisations offering financial and in kind support!
